It is not for nothing that socialite Huddah Monroe considers herself a mistress of all trades. Indeed, there is nothing she has not tried out.
According to Kenyanlife.com, Huddah first worked as a secretary for an architecture company immediately after high school at age 16. But due to lack of professional qualifications, she was fired by her boss.
She ventured out into freelance modelling and enrolled for computer studies. She also did a diploma in programming.
Today, she has posted a Throw Back Thursday (TBT) of her modelling days and reveals that though she is short, she considered herself Kenya’s equivalent of iconic British model Naomi Campbell.
“Early TBTs….. Modeling days 😂. I am short but I believed I was Naomi Campbell . I had always believed in myself and never giving a fuck what society had to say! When you say I can’t do it , I do it!
They never wanna see you win , win tho in your mind and in your heart .#iAmaWinner #2012 #MistressOfAllTrades,” she captioned the photo.
Many of her fans were happy for the progress she has made despite running away from home at an early age due to family problems after her mother married another man following the death of her father.
its_sly.lauren: Still Campbell is proud of you.😄😊
jacchalz: Well said! I like the way you always say positive things to yourself.I also Love the person you are becoming!#keepgoing @huddahthebosschick.
dimpho_006: See we all gotta start somewhere? 😂. Go through her acc and look at her other pics. @miss_mnisi
However, not all adore her.
betty_karanja52: Nashangaa watu wakisifu mtu kuanika mwili wake kwa uma hamuoni aibu kama wanawake na mnasifu shindwe (It surprises me when people praise someone who exposes her nudity to the public. It is shameful for women and you are full of praises go to hell.”
Her journey to fame started when she got connected to Calif Records and she featured in several music videos. She later modeled for several commercials and earned handsome amounts of money which she invested in debentures for an oil venture and earned some extra income.
Huddah rose to ultimate fame in 2014 after she clinched the coveted slot of representing Kenya in the Big Brother Africa – BBA reality show in South Africa. The rest is history.
