The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has launched investigations against Joe Mwangi for a possible theft case against a minor, Wendy Waeni.
In a tweet, the DCI said that they had taken up the case following a public outcry, in a case that could have seen the talented gymnast lose millions.
“Detectives from the Child Protection Unit have today commenced investigations into this matter & should ANY criminal culpability be found, appropriate legal action will be taken. We are grateful to all those who brought this to our attention,” tweeted the DCI.
Appearing on Citizens JKL show hosted by Jeff Koinange, the girl revealed that she was living in a single room in Huruma with her mother, after being defrauded by former manager Joe Mwangi.
“I have performed all over the world but I’ve never gotten a penny from it and that is because of my previous manager (Joe Mwangi),” said Wendy.
She also revealed that she does not have access to her social media accounts, as they are controlled by Mangi who posts what he wills, to an extend of being rude to Wendy’s fans in what is seen as a way of hurting her image after fall out.
The mother has since said that her life is in danger after receiving threats from Joe Mwangi.
