Telkom Kenya now says a man who sought to hook up with a woman he served at an Orange retail shop on Friday is not one of their employees.
In a statement, Telkom Kenya, which operates the Orange cellular phone service, says the man is a sales agent from a device partners whose team was conducting a device sales drive in the retail shop.
Here is the statement issued by Telkom Kenya:
The lady, Laura Wambui, complained to Orange after the employee sent her his picture on Whatsapp saying he had served her earlier and would like to know her better.
However, Laura hit the roof, saying her privacy had been breached and protested to Telkom Kenya despite efforts by the clearly smitten man to stop her from escalating the matter.
However, her decision to report the employee has split Kenyans on social media. While, one one part, there are those who agree that her privacy was violated, on the other, there are those who aver he was right in pursuing a woman he was attracted to. Others claimed things would have been different if the pursuer was a big shot at Orange Kenya. Incidentally, majority of those who admonished her were ladies.
