A man who was being sought by police for allegedly defiling his daughter in Murang’a County has committed suicide.
John Wachira, 29 years old, is said to have taken poison at round 10 am Tuesday in Maranjau village and died on the way to hospital.
The deceased who was a husband and a father of six children is said to have disappeared from the village after he learnt that he was being sought on suspicion of defiling his 10 year old daughter who is of unsound mind.
Murang’a Deputy County Commissioner, Kepha Marube, told KNA that the minor was defiled on November 21, 2017 and the case was reported at Makuyu police station where investigations were ongoing.

The deceased however came back on Monday from his hideout and committed suicide Tuesday morning.
Marube said that his body was moved to Thika General Kago mortuary. The administrator also decried the increasing cases of incest in the county urging for collaborative efforts by government and the society to address the vice.
