Presidential escort cop to be charged for illegally selling a comrade’s pistol

A police officer attached to the presidential escort unit is set to be arraigned in court on Monday (November 6) after he was arrested for allegedly stealing and trying to sell a colleague’s pistol.

The suspect, who was based at the Ruiru General Service Unit (GSU) camp, was nabbed on Saturday while allegedly selling the Jericho pistol with 15 bullets to a suspected broker based in Kawangware area.

The Presidential escort officer is reported to have obtained the weapon and ammunition from their armory at the Ruiru camp.
