Denial of conjugal rights is one among many reasons that occasioned divorce of Meru senator Mithika Linturi from his allege wife Marianne Kitany.
In her third day of testimeny at Milimani Law Courts, Ms Kitany said that apart from denying her conjugal rights severally, Linturi cheated on her with several other women who used to send him pornographic material through phone.
“I filed for divorce because Linturi was cheating on me,” Ms Kitany told the court, adding: “He slept with other women in town.”
She added, “Linturi would come home late, and did not want to give me my conjugal rights.”
Kitany said one of the maids in Meru told her Linturi used to bring other ladies to the house. The maid has since died.
After confronting him, Linturi ran away from their Meru home and came to their Runda home in Nairobi where he was guarded by the police and some goons and dogs.
This was after Kitany discovered that Linturi had used family members’ properties to secure loans from the bank.
Linturi later gained entry into the home, but was bundled out by the said goons under the instructions of the senator.
